Troma Gets Kid-Friendly

In a time when Sesame Street is only alive because of its gentrification by HBO, the news of G-rated Troma content isn’t as absurd as it initially sounds.

We recently reported on Troma Entertainment’s new VHX channel, TROMA NOW. Just in time for the holidays, subscribers will now have access to brand new, family-friendly Tromatic animation. Lloyd Kaufman, company founder and creator of the beloved The Toxic Avenger, announced the new additions will premiere this month.

The first available animations are plucked from the holiday compilation DVD A Very Classy Christmas. They are “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Christmas Comes but Once a Year.” Additionally, there is a half-hour musical sing-along titled Doggie Tails, which will feature chatty pooches.

Perhaps most exciting is Toxic Crusaders: The Movie, which featured positive message about environment preservation. The story was told by editing together segments from the 1991 television series of the same name.  It will be available this month.
